Feeling pretty fatigued even after calling it a night at 8pm after I passed out watching a video around 7. I woke up at 6 and while I’m up and ready to go and have done some creative work already, as I pull this card, I feel extremely out of it. But the Nine of Earth pull gives me some hope for today, on which I have a card show nearby to go to, and I’m going regardless of how I feel.
I pulled the NIne of Earth (traditionally Pentacles)
The guidebook reads: “You have earned your place in the sun. Claim your right to retreat into the solitude of contentment. Being on your own to contemplate beauty is a kind of prosperity that feeds the soul. Not everything is meant to be shared, even with loved ones. Deep happiness awaits you in the walled garden of the spirit.”
Well, then! This is what I needed to hear today. I do have Emily coming up Tuesday or Wednesday. Depending on how today goes, I may even return to the second day of the Sports Card Expo tomorrow. There’s another Trading Card Expo coming up but it’s predominantly Pokemon and the market is so hyperinflated right now I don’t really want to touch it. Sports cards are a bit more realistic, at least when it comes to the prices of singles. Sealed product is even coming back to earth. So I’m thrilled to be able to go enjoy this expo by myself. It’s something I haven’t ever gotten to do, actually, going to a card show. As crazy as that sounds!
Being on my own to contemplate beauty is a kind of prosperity that feeds the soul… well, I know combing through dollar bins at a card show may not sound like it to most people, but for me, it is! Crazy to think I’ve NEVER been to a card show. I’ve been to plenty of other expos. Comics, computers, and the like. But not a card show. They’ve never been near enough to me or I wasn’t feeling up to the travel when they were. Moving to Buffalo has afforded me these opportunities to be consistently within a half hour to an hour’s drive from me. Plus there’s a Wegman’s across the street to do some supplemental grocery shopping.
I know Emily would’ve liked to come with me to one of these events, just to see me happy. But yes, it’s better for me to enjoy the experience alone, get to meet the local vendors and what not. I STILL haven’t gotten down to Dave and Adam’s. I’m hoping to do that this week. Maybe Tuesday if Emily is coming Wednesday. I guess Buffalo is going to become my walled garden, after all. And perhaps that truly is for the best.
