It’s long been believed that Leonardo DaVinci said that “Art is never finished, only abandoned.” In the case of this Tunes and Tales adjacent novella, Stillwater’s Daughter, it’s time for me to just put this out into the world. It’s basically a second draft that I tweaked a bunch recently. The story is loosely based on Thoreau’s Walden but set in the Tunes and Tales cat-people world. While I’m proud of the concept and there are a lot of good ideas in it, and the story is complete, I still feel like it needs some smoothing over in places. However, as I’m in the process of clearing out the chaff from my archives, and this is good enough to stand on its own, here it is.
This will probably not be the last time I play with this story, but I honestly think it’s time for me to move on from it. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
